he meaning of justice can change from one day to the next.
A professional solider never brings justice into the battle.
So long as we remain loyal to our side, soliders like us need nothing to belive in.

Error: "Error compiling movie" during render or export (Adobe Premiere Pro, Premiere Elements)

    Issue

When you render a Premiere timeline, Premiere Pro or Premiere Elements returns the message "Error compiling movie. Unknown error."

    Details:

This message is generally followed by the error message, "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere [Elements or Pro] to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."

    Solution

Do one or more of the following:

Note: Always restart the computer after a problem occurs to refresh its memory. Continuing to work without restarting the computer may compound the problem.

Solution 1: Remove effects from the problematic clip.

Remove all of the following effects from the clip that generated the error: Auto Levels, Auto Color, Auto Contrast, and Shadow/Highlight.

Solution 2: Convert your file to a DV AVI.

You may have a problematic file. Once you have determined which file is causing the problem, convert it to a DV AVI from Premiere's Project window or a third-party application.

Solution 3: Quit any applications that may be interfering with the render process.

If you are using GPU (Video Display Card) based effects and transitions , then make sure you do not use other GPU intensive applications (video games, screen savers, etc.). Do not allow your system to be locked or hibernate while rendering the timeline or during export.

Solution 4: Use a different codec for your export.

The problem may arise from exporting with a codec that is not fully supported in Premiere. Try exporting your project using a different codec such as Microsoft DV AVI.

To export from Premiere Pro or Premiere Elements using a different codec:

    1. Choose File > Export > Movie.

    2. Choose Settings

    3. Select the appropriate File Type:

-- To export as a Microsoft DV AVI select Microsoft DV AVI from the File Type menu.

-- To export using a non-DV codec, choose Microsoft AVI

    4. Do one of the following:

-- If you are using a non-DV codec , then choose Video and select the codec you wish to use from the Compressor menu, and then click OK.

-- If you are using a DV codec, then click OK.

Note: For steps to export using the Adobe Media Encoder, please refer to the user guide.

    Solution 5: Disable Auto Save.

The Auto Save feature may interfer e with the export process. Turn it off if you are experiencing problems when you export to your hard disk, DVD, or tape.

    To disable AutoSave:

    1. Choose Edit > Preferences > Auto Save.

    2. Uncheck Automatically Save Projects.

    3. Click OK.

    Background information

Illegal files, or files not created to a specific format's complete coding specifications, may play properly in previous versions of Premiere or other third-party applications. Previous versions of Premiere used the default Microsoft DirectShow decoder for a given file type. Current versions of Premiere use their own internal decoders for playback of video files. These internal decoders have a lower tolerance for files that do not meet a specific file format's complete specifications.

Auto Levels, Auto Color, Auto Contrast and Shadow/Highlight are modified effects from Adobe Photoshop. When you apply these effects to long clips or nested sequences, you may see an error.

If you use GPU intensive applications, or if your system locks or hibernates while rendering the timeline or during export, then you may get black video frames where the GPU effect or transition was, or you may get an error "Error Compiling Movie. Unknown Error."
