Pistolgrep m/shock mount, blimp og pels

I built this with things I had lying around, except the windscreen, which cost about 3$

The shock mount was very easy to build, all you need is a suitable cylinder, rubberbands and to peices of wood which is going to be the pistol grip. I just taped the cylinder to the grip with some electrician's tape.



The blimp is actually a fly net with foam glued onto it. When you're making this, you want to be sure you have enough glue, cause you'll need a lot of it. This was the hardest part and the most boring thing to make



The cylinder fits snuggly inside the blimp. I have to be a little careful when removing/adding the blimp; I don't want to rip it. It's not a professional blimp, obviously, so you have to be nice to it



The back end is attached with fishing hooks I modified a little. I also used a rubberband.



Here's a closeup of the hooks and as you can see, the furry windscreen is being attached.



It's essential that you use fake fur for this application, unless there won't come any sound through.

It's really nice, and it almost blocks all the wind. Of course not everything, but what can you expect from a 3$ location sound package?

Det einaste eg betalte for var pelsen, og den kosta 20 kroner for 0.5x3.5 meter.

Shock mounten er eigentleg kjerna av ein spole dei oppbevarar leidning på.
Handtaket er ei bøygd trelist og ein sekskanta pinne, kledd med sånt skum som er utenpå gamle kobberrøyr.
Blimpen er skumgummi som er limt på flogenetting med kontaktlim. Berre spør på ein madrass-butikk om dei har nokre restar, så får du sikkert dette gratis. Skummet er ca. 1-1.5 cm tjukt.
Bakenden er festa med fiskekrokar eg har bøygd ned mothaka på.
Pelsen får du i hvilken som helst tøybutikk, berre spør om dei har kunstig pels. Pass på at pelsen ikkje er for tjukk, då den vil blokkere mykje lyd.
Pelsen lukkast rundt blimpen ved hjelp av borrelås. P.S, det enklaste er å stifte borrelåsen på.
