I need to do a voice-over in norwegian at the beginning of a film.

I am french. I am looking for a Norwegian voice for an film about the Svartisen glacier.
    Only 3 sentences.
    Somebody want to record it?

    The text is:
    ----------------------------------
In august 2005, Tatiana and Benoit are doing an expedition on the Svartisen in Norway.
The Svartisen is the second largest glacier in continental Europe.
The only way to reach the Svartisen village is to cross the Fjord by boat.
    -----------------------------------

I need this text to be translated in Norwegian and then voice recorded.

You can send the result in an email at:
    bpierret@mageos.com

I don't know if I am in the right topic because I don't speak norwegian. Tell me which topic I should use if necessary.

    Thank you

This is a picture of Svartisen taken from a military MTB spring 2005.

But anyway, back to topic. My voice does not sound goog at all, so I am certain you don't want me to record it, but I am pretty sure there are others here on this forum that will make you a nice recording...

    Thank you for your picture.
    We can proceed by step.
First step: if somebody want to translate the three sentences in Norwegian.
Then the only next step will be to read it.

my voice is not so good either.

but i can try to translate the text:

In august 2005, Tatiana and Benoit are doing an expedition on the Svartisen in Norway.
The Svartisen is the second largest glacier in continental Europe.
The only way to reach the Svartisen village is to cross the Fjord by boat.

I august 2005 drar Tatina og Benoit på en ekspedisjon til Svartisen i Norge.
Svartisen er den nest største isbreen i det kontinentale Europa.
Den eneste måten å nå bygda ved Svartisen er å krysse fjorden med båt.

This is how i translate it.
mabye someone on the forum has corections for the best translated result.

I would change the first line to something like this:

I august 2005 dro Tatiana og Benoit på en ekspedisjon til Svartisen i Norge.

But I feel what you have written in English doesn't sound too good either. But hey, what do I know about your project...

Aww, forgot my mic at home...(on vacation now, 500 km away from home)
Maybe a silly question but I am curious:
Why do you need a norwegian voice-over in a french movie?
As far as I know, quite few french people understand norwegian.
    Is it for touristm?

I also forgot my mic at home. Btw, why on earth do you need voice recordings for your film? Why not use buy-out material from one of the major record companies, like Universal or Sony Music. I know Imax has some neat recordings in their catalogue. E-mail them, or one of their advisors, like Curt Olaf Helly at sony pictures classics

I am not sure a have the budget to work with major compagnies. I want Norwegian just for the atmosphère at the beginning of the film. The Norvegian will be subtitled. And I find funny and interresting to work with Norvegians in such a projet.

My "film" is in fact a high definition slideshow mounted in premiere.
It's an amateur film. The best it could do is a projection in my photo/slideshow club. The destination is more friends and family.

I can try to put online a low definition version tomorow (the today version not finished). Then you will understand (maybe) and will be able to do your critics.

Oh, I see. I thought you were a professional film maker from Belarus or something (or at least somewhere else around the Persian Gulf). It is nice and fun to work with people across the borders, taking advantage of the possibilities that the INTERNeat provides. I'd be happy to do the lines for you, but as I mentioned I left my mike back at my second home, in olde bolde borg.

Find some good traditional Norwegian music featuring some native instrumens, like the Harding Fele - a norwegian fiddle older than Wilfgangn Mohzart's shoes. Or a Jew's-harp, or some other crap. That would put your audience in the right mood.

edit,..,.,, and oh we al cross uor fingers for "air" france an d zidane tonite in tge world cup i ll eat beef. a lot of tourists disapers evry yeer . we'll cross fingers for them as well an d good luck w your project. down with grease haired cheating italians BUT may the best team win beat the worse team

Considering Ekksplotsjon Bang Studios' written Norwegian, I wouldn't count on him doing the best narration for your documentary. Sure, the French probably wouldn't know the difference, but you never know who does.

as the the image posterd by HenrikSolberg shows, the svarte isen /(meaning 'the black ice' in English) isen actually is white. Just like michael jackson.

I export my film last version
You can see it at the adress:
    http://bepierret.free.fr/films/norvege8bd.wmv

I plan to add 4 voice-oner sections (the first one in Norwegian).

    Critics are open.

I think I will have a lot of critics but no more voice.

For motivation I can give points off positive posts:
    - Ulari: 1
    - Henrik Solberg: 0
    - Df: 2
    - dahlskebank: 1
    - Henriken: 0
    - Ekksplotsjon Bang Studios: 0.25
    - Bulken: 0
    - Kenny wang: 0

    For me: 0 (France loose).

    Do you agree with me?
I can do the competition of the best French sounding Norwegian voice (maybe not the same as the best Norwegian sounding Norwegian voice).

That way off proceeding is maybe not in the Norwegian spirit but....

I really think you should recount the votes in my favour. I was trying to help so that you wouldn't get a mediocre voice over that you wouldn't be able to tell if were so or not.

Yeah! I to feel I to deserve a "positive posts", I just feel I'm joking around at this forum, doing nothing than bullshit. But I think the post with the picture of Svartisen was a great addition to draw attention to you cause... So I'm pretty down now because you didn't give me a "positive post". I'll think I will go and hang myself or something....

I think everybody is afraid to speak in this forum. You are great writters.

    - Ulari: no excuse
    - Henrik Solberg: No voice
    - Df: No voice
    - dahlskebank: no excuse
    - Henriken: Forgot mic
    - Ekksplotsjon Bang Studios: no excuse
    - Bulken: no excuse
    - Kenny wang: have a nice mic in his camcorder

So I am waiting for the recoding of Ulari, Henrik Solberg ,Df, dahlskebank, Ekksplotsjon Bang Studios, Bulken, Kenny wang.

I would like to hear a bad voice, then I would be able to apréciate the good voice...

I decide to increase every contributor note:
    - Ulari: 1
    - Henrik Solberg: 0,1
    - Df: 2
    - dahlskebank: 1
    - Henriken: 0,1
    - Ekksplotsjon Bang Studios: 0.25
    - Bulken: 0,1
    - Kenny wang: 0,1
    - For me: 0 (France loose).

Advertising: 5 points for the first recording.

    You can win points:
    - Translation
    - Increase translation quality
    - Record your voice
    - Record somebody else's voice
    - First post (0.1 only)

But I think I will do the first Norwegian recording so you can see how bad it can be... And I will be the leader...

Have they been to Svartisen or are they going to Svartisen? How would you like those names to be pronounced? There is also tons of dialects in Norway, I don't know if it is any difference.
